Arriving at Church
We are located at 1340 Murchison Dr in El Paso TX, at the end of the parking lot / the fellowship hall of First Presbyterian Church with whom we share space. Our worship services are on Sundays at 10am.
Warm, Blended Worship Style
We gather on Sundays at 10 AM. Our services tend to be about an hour long. In them, we have a time for gathering together, sharing updates and prayer requests, singing hymns and more contemporary songs, hearing a scripture reading and a sermon, and having communion. We strive to have worship services that reflect our community; warm, comfortable, welcoming, and fun.
No Dress Code, No Putting You on the Spot
There is no dress code. It’s common to see folks in suits next to folks in jeans, and all are comfortable. When you join us, expect for others to be friendly and introduce themselves. But know that you will never be put on the spot or singled out for being new. So, come as you are.
Weekly Open Communion & No Creeds
Our denomination, the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), was founded on the basic premise that we are all on this journey of faith together. As such, we make a point to have weekly communion where all are welcome, regardless of if you are a member here or not. Similarly, we do not recite any creeds or confessions, going straight to the Bible to discern what it has to say. To put that another way, we flip the script on what it means to be a church; we start with welcoming all people into community and arrive (and often re-arrive) at our beliefs as we go.
What about my kids?
We love kids! Our church does not divide kids from their families for any form of kid’s church and instead invites their full participation in worship. However, we understand that attention spans differ. So, we always have coloring pages, a close by space with a few toys and games, and a lot of understanding if kids make a bit of noise. Likewise, if you need to step away to care for them, we completely understand that too. And, if you’re comfortable with it, we have plenty of church moms and grandmas who would be honored to help care for your kids during the service.
What if I’m nervous or have other needs?
One of the things we think we do best here is make real friendships. So, feel free to call ahead and we would be more than happy to pair you up with someone kind who can meet you at the door, sit with you through the service, and otherwise be a friendly and familiar face for you.
Similarly, if for any reason you would like to meet the pastor or see the worship space before all the hustle and bustle of Sunday morning, feel free to reach out and we will make this happen. This is a great option for kids with sensory needs.
We look forward to seeing you!
